*watercolour, colour pencils, paper*
This is a relatively new work...It is paired with the other painting "Give you the Sun" [link] in the theme of "the Sun & the Moon". The theme colour of this work is deep blue, which is the complimentary colour of orange. (since the theme colour of "Give you the Sun" is orange^v^) Also, deep blue is suitable to express a melancholy feeling... In this painting, the girl killed herself because of some reasons, and her lover is bringing her to the realm of the moon where is the place that she has longed for...will he be back? No one knows... This work is dedicated to my fair friend Dorothy Leung, who has committed suicide on 15th October, 2008, because of love affairs.(v_v) ...though it was painted in japanese style, it makes me think of a few lines of verse: Lune, eau sonore, nuit benie, Arbres qui frissonnez autour, Votre pure melancolie Est le miroir de mon amour. --"Le jest d'eau" de Charles Baudelaire-- Comments
 I like this piece a lot; in more than one way.
As far as colour co-ordination, spatial construction and detail execution go, they are a step up from its accompanying piece. Anatomy no longer stands as your stumbling block, either. Over all, very well done. (I like blue a lot, but that's a personal preference.) Do I have any suggestion for this one? Not this time around, no. Finally, my condolences for your lost friend. How do you do it?? I love the fact that the picture just seems to 'glow', and the stark contrast of blood on the sword really stands out that way.
